During some low times,
When others ran away,
They sustained me,
Without me asking.
Begged for long walks,
Early, late, they
Slept next to me, reminding
Me to breathe, to wake, to smile.
Somehow they knew my needs,
Before I did.
One was already older,
With a panic attacks,
Blending into the night sky.
The other was younger,
With a penchant for bolting
Barking for no reason,
With hair that never stopped.
Yet, they knew I needed them
So they stayed close.
