A Sweet Slice of Life

This is
Not a slice of cake
Laden with sugars, calories.
This is
A sweet slice of life,
Layers of love, luscious chocolate,
A one-of-a-kind cake,
Made by a one-of-a-kind mom,
 To celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime birthday,
Filled with laughter and love,
This is
A reminder
 That life can be sweet,
For those who watch their heart
Multiply and divide.
This is
A promise from above,
Rainbows follow storms.

Love this and needed to hear it for my own life today. Thank you. I love how you saw the bigger picture and enjoyed the beautiful cake! Simple moments are often the sweetest. Thank you for sharing this one!

I agree with you, it's all a matter of perspective! This looks yummy! I'd much rather have this on my plate than kale chips!

Your poem caught the specialness of the day, the maker, and the cake. Your words were just as yummy as I'm sure the cake was.

Rainbows follow that line. The cake looks delicious and I can tell it was made with love by the words you wrote. So glad you enjoyed!

So many lines to love in this poem...but the sentiment it expresses is the best of all. PS. It also looks delicious.
