#SOL 2013 Chicken in a Pot or Cake in a Box

Yesterday, Dogtrax posted a story created on Tapestry.  Sometimes I look at what he does with technology and think, "Does that man ever sleep?"  Other times, I look at what he does with rapt admiration and think, "Maybe, I can do that too?"Yesterday, his storyboard captured my attention and I could not wait long to try it.

So, I am sharing a short slice of my life this week through Tapestry.  I see the flaws (especially my difficulty embedding the image of my story) with this program, but like it anyway!

Next week, you will likely see how this looks when elementary kids try it!  For today, here is the link to my Tapestry story about a family favorite dinner!

I loved it! It's so true--that which they complain about is what they'll remember most. Even before we got to chicken in a pot, I laughed at the using cloth diapers only on the weekends. Such a good, self-depcracating comment that is an accurate slice of YOU. Great and noble in how you choose to mother, but not perfect.

Neat! I must have missed Kevin's posting of this tool. I'll have to give it a shot at work too. I'm trying to get iBook Author installed, but maybe this is a good "interim" thing to try.

It took me a few tries to download the app and open your story, but it was worth the effort. I love how the kids came back to ask for more chicken in a pot once they left home. Now I'm excited to try out Tapestry myself.

Oh, what fun! I loved the story and the Tapestry thing, too - have to try this for myself!

I can't wait to see what your kids come up with next week. This looks like it could be an addictive kind of writing. Aren't kids funny with the pieces of home they hold onto?

Anita, how wonderful, & will you send me some also! I love the idea, & my husband & I loved mixtures, would have loved the idea of chicken in a pot all week. Alas, neither child likes casserole-type mixtures, so we didn't have those things very often. When we were back on our own, we started in again-love those 'everything-but-the-kitchen sink' recipes! And also loved the tapestry idea. I'll definitely check it out! Thank you!

I am using my phone to read slices tonight and could not get tapestry to work. Will try again on the weekend! Thanks for sharing a new technology idea and fun way to slice.
