I was excited
My new suit
And I were ready,
Morning swim,
Warm pool, Aquacize.
Coffee brewing
l looked out the window,
I looked at the message
Trees, car, roads
Laden with snow
Delayed opening
More snow than expected!
Surprise !@($&
Shoveling!
Instead of swimming
This morning
(I appreciate Mother Nature's Slices of Life,
The snow is beautiful and peaceful.
March snows are sure to melt.
But, I'd be OK if this was the end.)

Shoveling snow instead of swimming in the water - both involve the different states of water, both involving physical exercise. The snow will eventually melt.

Looking out the window for “the message” has become routine this winter. Wonderful that you turned this snow day routine into a poem, but I’ll take shoveling over swimming!

I like how you turned this into a positive poem. My husband had back surgery in January and I've been in charge of most of the shoveling. I call it my "Hawaii Workout", but I'm sure ready to be done with the white stuff!
I'm sorry you had to change your plans but I love the idea of a surprise snow. We've had SO much rain where I live. Also I love your beginning lines because at first I thought the suit was the sort you were going to wear for some sort of interview, not in the pool.
Swimming in snow, instead of swimming in water! I have always wanted to try aquacizing!
No Swimming this time around... but exercise :) I'm ready to get back in a pool and I think I have one now but it's been sooo cold...

I thought you were going to say that you looked outside and realized it was too cold to leave. Sometimes I have every intention of going to the pool until I realize how cold it is and I don't want to leave my house.
