It's teacher appreciation week,
Time to stop and notice what it takes,
To prepare for one, single math lesson.
One special education teacher.
Two very full hands,
Three separate, different timers,
Four task/behavior/focus motivators,
Five behavior charts,
Six carefully placed chairs.
Lots and lots and lots of
Preparation,
Many, many, many modifications of
Program, teaching methods,
Reinforcement, assessments.
That's what it takes
Every day.
To be a teacher.
