Thank you to the Two Writing Teachers site for
"Take a deep breath, hold it," she said on cue,
Stepping out of her box in her magenta scrubs,
I took a deep breath, the last one for 20 minutes, or so.
Even though she did direct me to
"Relax," as if that was possible,
Scantily clad in a bubble-gum wrap,
Stripped of reading material,
Like those worn holding room People magazines,
Waiting with anxious-sisters-of-all-ages in
Cherry-blossom seats wrapped in salmon wallpaper.

Anita,
“Stripped of reading material” is enough to make me cancel! I have both dental and doctor appointments this week and am not looking forward to the inevitable blood draw. I do, however, love pink and would live in a pink house (interior) if I could.
Apprehension and Anxiety permeates through this slice!
This scene could make me stop liking pink! The way you crafted this had me holding my breath alongside you.
I must agree - - I'm not a fan of pink, at least the bold ones - - but I do like blush, especially with taupe or another neutral color. I'm hoping you were able to finally breathe - - I do not like the apprehension of anything with needles or imaging even if people are wearing my favorite colors.
I am I took a deep breath, the last one for 20 minutes, or so.not a pink lover either and yet the last twelve months have had me making three different pink quilts. This is my favorite line, "I took a deep breath, the last one for 20 minutes, or so."
