SOL 25: November 18: Imagine What Might Be

One of the "perks" of writing slices about life is that you savor those moments that are just too special for forget. The other night, I went to the Westchester County Center, a nearly century old Art Deco, multiuse facility that hosts art shows, dog shows, ballets, Dancing with the Stars and a whole lot more!

Went to celebrate
Up close and personal with
Knick want-to-be basket-ballers
Snagging 3-pointers,
Longing for the ball
To land in the net
To be noticed
Where you can
Munch on hotdogs,
Cuddle with grands,
Get your ball signed
Imagine what might be
Dream big,
If you are turning double digits for the first time.

To my surprise
Whose ages are inspirational
Provided half-time
Entertainment, dancing,
Moving, shaking
To Tay-Tay, Queen,
Proudly sharing birth years with
Smiling crowds,
Reminders to
Imagine what might be
Dream big, even
If you have turned double digits many times!

Anita, the coming of age feel and vibe with so many possibilities as they turn double digits is real and alive here in your post today. Knowing that you are there for them to see these moments and share the joys is truly inspiring. Oh, how I love the name The Pacemakers.....what a fitting name for a team! Your photos in the post add to the excitement and bring readers along to see the moments.

Proof that age is only a number. I believe in living life to the fullest and your post certainly celebrates that.

Anita,

I agree with your comment about how regular writing helps us to notice more so that we have more to write about. What a good cycle.

Love how your poem switches from dreams for the turning double digits set to dreams for all of us.

I always admire people who do what they love without worrying about or at least despite other’s judgment.

I’m glad your community center os providing a safe place for people of all ages to dream and share their passions.

Anita, what a fun half time show. The Pacemakers sound like a hoot. I'm impressed with some of those birthyears (as shown on their website). Hope the game was great for the double digits dear one! Here's to dreaming big, no matter what age. Thanks for a fun post.

Anita,
These are the moments that keep us young and enthusiastic. I’m looking forward to watching my grandchildren play sports. Ezra is already tall, so I’m hoping he’ll play basketball. Love the framing of this slice and the way it embodies dreams.
