Reading Stamina

We talk a lot about reading stamina these days.  Some of the increased attention is due to LONG tests and some is due to interpretations of Common Core Doctrine suggesting we need "rigor" in our schools.  No matter what the source of our increased focus, building reading stamina WITHIN our schools is something most of us (who do not live in a glass bubble) realize is important.  Let's face it, no matter what we say and do, MOST of our kids are NOT going to do a LOT of reading at home.  We can HOPE they do the 20 minutes we ask...but if we think it is a sustained 20 minutes we are probably kidding ourselves.  SO...when I read this post the other day, I smiled from ear to ear!  What WONDERFUL ways to build stamina!
