Edutopia published an article, 53 Ways to Check for Understanding, last November 11th, but I must have missed it. It happens, Thanks to retweeting, I saw it pop up again this morning.
Formative assessments are a critical part of assessment driven instruction. They make the difference between teacher focused and student focused learning. IF they are used to adjust and adapt the next day's lesson and small group/individual reteaching, they make a difference.
This list of 53 ways to formatively assess includes a few of my favorites:
