sol25 March 28 Have You?

Have you?
Found yourself,
Teeth brushed, face moistened,
Lying in bed
Wedged between crispy sheets,
Thinking,
Wondering
Worried
Concerned
Fearful
Apprehensive
About someone you care about?

Have you?
Shared a card,
Sent flowers,
Joined a food train,
Made a donation.
Knowing in your heart
There is nothing you can do
There is no physical gift
To make the situation better.

Knowing, in your heart
That nothing will lessen
The hurt, the loss, the pain.
You can only offer a prayer?
Me too.

Anita, I needed this poem today. So many in my circle in need of my prayers and love. Your poems always touch a place in me. Please join us at the Kidlit Progressive Poem in April.

Anita, your poem shows that you can do all those things, and still not feel it is enough or anything. Prayer is always a good place to be, and beside the person struggling. Peace to those who need extra encouragement and support these days.

Anita, helping someone who is suffering can be challenging. Your poem is beautifully written and a reminder of how important it is to be there for others.

Being there - - sharing thoughts and presence and resources - - to let someone know they matter......that is the essence of holding someone close. Lovely poem, and great tips on what we can do.

Writing this in second person reaches out to all of us, and I think we could all answer yes. Sending prayers to you and your loved one.
